It'll Be Better
Story Behind the Song
"It'll Be Better" is a song of hope and resilience, and it was born from four small words my son said to me.
I wrote it during a heavy season, the kind weighed down by daily struggles, money worries, empty spaces, and the doubt that keeps circling back no matter how hard you push it away. One night, while I was tucking my son into bed, my mind drifted somewhere far and worried, and he caught me spacing out. With the pure faith only a child has, he looked at me and said, "It'll all be better, papa."
That simple reassurance broke the cycle of everything heavy in my head. There was so much light in his innocence, in the soft certainty of his voice, that my fears went quiet. I found my strength in his belief, and I understood that sometimes love really is enough to carry you through.
So the message of this song is simple on purpose. You do not need a complicated truth, you just need someone to say, gently and surely, that it will be better, and to mean it. My son meant it, and this is me passing those words on to anyone who needs them tonight.
