Mijito Mio

Single Released: May 10, 2025

Story Behind the Song

"Mijito Mio" (My Dear Little One) is a song I wrote for myself as a child. It is the present me speaking softly to the boy I used to be, finally saying the words no adult in my life ever said to me.

Some have assumed it was written for my son, but it is not. It is a conversation across time, me reaching back to a lonely kid who felt misunderstood and silenced, who carried his pain without anyone to hand it to. I tell him the things he needed to hear, that he was never too much, that his tenderness was never a flaw, that he mattered exactly as he was.

Even with all the mockery and judgment around him, his inner world stayed intact, and one day it found its way out through music. That is the quiet truth at the center of the song, that creating became a lifeline, the thing that kept me from losing my way and turned old wounds into a voice of truth.

So this is less a performance than a promise to my younger self. It honors the pain as part of my history and as proof of my strength, and it tells that boy, gently and without conditions, that he was always worthy of greatness.

Lyrics
